In a bizarre partnership that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized statement, "An unusual encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of banned rituals and monstrous transformations resonate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden sect.

The mission concentrates on "strange experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Content

Players who finish the quest will obtain an unique katana alongside several items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Newest Free Story Update

This release also brings the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
